Teacher Education system holds the key responsibility in making of professionally qualified and competent teachers. The progress of a nation to a great extent depends upon the quality of its teachers. In order to make the system effective and protective, the teacher and teacher education have to ensure regular renewal of their knowledge and refinement of skills. The role of teachers in contemporary societies is diversified, multi-dimensional and ever changing. We have the challenges before us to prepare teachers who can perform their multi- dimensional roles effectively.

Sant Mela Singh College of Education founded with a view that it will provide quality education to the teacher trainee so that they can prove their worth for the prosperity of the nation "Education is an instrument of Social Change and Social Control." To give right and new direction in the field of Education, Sant Mela Singh College of Education was established in the year 2003 run under the aegis of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji Trust (Sole Trustee) of Dera Sant Pura Nangali Sahib.

It is my pleasure to welcome the aspirant teacher trainee of current session to Sant Mela Singh College of Education.

With the blessing of His Holiness, the Sole Trustee, we begin every New Year with hope and expectation for ourselves, for our near and dears ones, for our institutions and for our Nation at large.
